The Tour

Beyond the inviting front terrace, entrance is through an original shared front door. Stairs lead to the second floor, where the expansive, open-plan kitchen and living space is well-arranged with a seating area at one end. Bespoke, hand-built kitchen units are washed in a soft ‘02 shade‘ pink from LICK and fitted with brass hardware. The original floorboards have been painted neutrally, enhancing the feeling of lightness.

An original Edwardian casement window frames views to the west, while another faces south allowing natural light to spread throughout the day; both are accented in sapele to match the kitchen worktops and open shelving, and paired with new bespoke wooden shutters. A sleek induction hob and oven, along with a dishwasher are integrated, while a neat pantry area has been crafted in the eaves, closed off with slatted wooden shutters.

The principal bedroom, with its parquet flooring, is drenched in a blue/gray tone, with plenty of space for hanging clothes. The second bedroom, also a double, has views over the lengthy garden below.

The bathroom is awash with earthy pink tones – a nod to the kitchen – and wrapped with herringbone teal tiles. A Crittall-inspired shower door is mounted on the tub alongside a custom-built vanity unit with lots of cupboard storage. There is additional storage space to be found in the eaves.

Outdoor Space

A long stretch of communal garden extends to the east, accessed directly from a side gate. Mature trees in surrounding gardens provide shade, while there is a decked area at the far end for outdoor dining.

The Area

Positioned on a quiet, residential avenue in Catford, the apartment is close to many green spaces. Ladywell Fields, with tennis courts and an athletics track, is a 13 minute walk away, with Hither Green and the open hilly spaces of Mountsfield Park a couple of minutes further in the opposite direction. Great for walking and cycling, the tranquil eight-mile Waterlink Way follows the River Ravensbourne and can be reached by bike in four minutes. Blythe Hill Fields or Wild Cat Wilderness Riverview Park can both be reached in 21 minutes. Yoga House offers a wide variety of yoga and Pilates classes nearby.

There is an exciting arts and food scene in Catford; local favourites include Catford Food Market, which promotes sustainable food production and The Broadway – a Grade II-listed Art Deco theatre . There is an excellent range of independent shops, restaurants and cafés locally including Servesmiths, a neighbourhood coffee shop, and Good Food, a local delicatessen. The popular Soho sushi eatery, Taro, has a south-east base serving authentic Japanese cuisine. The Grade II-listed Blythe Hill Tavern (voted the best pub in south-east London) is a 25 minute walk away, while the Catford Bridge Tavern offers a slightly closer option.

The school options in the area are excellent including Rathfern Primary School, Rushey Green Primary School, Sedgehill Academy, Forest Hill School as well as St Dunstan’s College independent school.

The apartment is conveniently located just 11 minutes and nine minutes’ walk to Catford and Catford Bridge Stations. From here, direct services run to London Bridge in 14 minutes, as well as Blackfriars and Charing Cross in around 25 minutes. There is easy access by car to the A205, The South Circular Road.
